CALL FOR NOMINATION FOR ASSOCIATESHIP OF THE WAST – 2025
The purpose of the programme is to identify and encourage promising young scientists and technologists.
ELIGIBILITY FOR ASSOCIATESHIP:
Age below 40 years as on the last date of nomination. The nominee should be presently working in an organization in the state of West Bengal. .
Associate Nomination Guideline 2025:
- 1. Fellows of good standing of the West Bengal Academy of Science and Technology and/or the Fellow of any one or more or the following National Academies* are eligible to nominate. Self-nomination is not permitted.
- If the Proposer is NOT a Fellow of the WAST, but a Fellow of one or more National Academies from the above list, then she/he needs to submit a self-declaration on her/his work experience in West Bengal as suggested in Clause 2.3 of the Rules and Regulation of the WAST (i.e. worked for 10 years or more in aggregate in one or more institutions in the state of West Bengal).
- The Proposer may belong to any Section, but they should certify from personal knowledge the scientific credentials of the nominee and verify the information given in the nomination form.
- 4. Only soft copies of the nomination will be accepted, which should be prepared as per the following guideline:
- The nomination package should contain the following documents:

- b)b) Reprints of ten most significant refereed publications as listed in the nomination form under item B(d) (these need not be the top cited publications).
- c) c) Nominee’s complete Curriculum Vitae and a complete list of publications.
- d) d) Nominee’s passport size (45mmx35mm) colour photo in JPG format of size not more than 50 kB.

Documents (a)-(c) are to be merged to a single PDF bearing a file name "Associate2025_SecNo_initials of nominee’s name in capitals with the Year of Birth". For example, if Ranjana Bhowmik is nominated for associate under section V and her year of birth is 1992, then the file should be named as "Associate2025_SecV_RB1992.pdf”. The JPG file of item (d) above should be identically named as "Associate2025_SecV_RB1992.jpg”.
